Shekhu, thank you for your lines. To just say sorry in my eyes does not relieve us either. I think one feels whether the own sorry is truely meant or just spoken to get over with it. That is why forgiving oneself plays such an important role in my eyes. When I can overcome my own feelings of shame and guilt I can reach out my hand... this act is freeing as I see it and as I have experienced it. It has a special energy around it. The energy of forgiveness...

Very true indeed! Sorry is the hardest word to say but to those who are not sure about whether they really want to say it or not. Some people say it just to get it over with too. That's freeing oneself from the guilt alright but does a mere sorry relieve us from the guilt? To me it doesn't.

I'm reading that book right now. I had no idea it was such a bestseller in Germany, how interesting. I wonder why that is.

Reading it inspired me to write a post called Choosing Intimate Partners: To Repeat or Not to Repeat?. In Reinventing Your Life, they really advocate avoiding and overcoming your lifetraps. But meanwhile some other theories suggest that we instead engage in and master them. It's a tough thing to know which to do.

Anyway, it's something we should really discuss more because these repetition patterns play such an important role in our lives. Thanks.

Is this eighth error you mention a matter of coaching for you, Mathew? For me it sounds like teaching. In my eyes coaching is different from teaching. That would be my eighth error then. # 6 says basically the same ;-)

I agree with your points but would add an eighth coaching error to the list...too much text on powerpoints.

I am a Doc, and I think balance is the key. My perfect day is to see my favorite patients till lunch, play golf till dark, then play music till 2:00 in the morning. It helps that my lovely wife is a musician too (a fine bass player)- playing music with your wife is downright spiritual.
Visit my weblog- the first physician bluegrass weblog I know of.

Maralorelei :-)
I am looking forward to your reading the book. Most feedbacks say that reading has started exciting processes and changes of view.

Renato :-)
as far as I am concerned your English is great. Well, for me it is a foreign language, too. I think what the heart wants to tell is all that matters... Thank you for your votes.

Thank you for sharing! When I have money again next semester after my next loan refund (poor and married graduate student) I will have to buy this book, for I love the concepts you raise. I will probably end up using it not only for myself, but share it with my husband who is in a really bad loop right now. (I may even use it to help make characters for my writing seem more real . . .)

Glad I tag-surfed and found this. Thank you!
